Takenobu is the stage name for vocal/cello performer Nick Takenobu Ogawa. Takénobu is a combination of the Japanese characters in Nick’s father and grandfather’s names. Roughly translated, Takenobu means “iron-will.”

Takenobu’s original songs and folk renditions travel through a layered soundscape of percussive pizzicato and legato bowed lines to a distinctively contemporary sound.

With a vocal range that encompasses the entire breadth of the cello, Takenobu’s bass-baritone depth is where he sounds most at home. Enjoy!!!!!
